Board Responsibilies

The Rural Financial Counselling Service NSW - Central West Inc Board of Directors, consists of 5 members from across the region who bring a variety of expertise, skills and knowledge to the organisation.

The role of the board is to:

  • meet all legal requirements including Deed of Grant compliance;  
  • provide effective leadership and collaborate with executive management on:
  • articulating the service provider’s values, vision and mission;
  • developing a strategic plan and ordering strategic priorities; and
  • developing and maintaining the service provider’s structure to support the achievement of agreed strategic objectives and outcomes;
  • monitor the performance of the Chief Executive Officer against agreed performance indicators;
  • review, agree on and monitor achievements on the business and strategic plans, communications and risk management plans, and the annual budget;
  • establish committees, policies and procedures to facilitate the effective discharge of the Board’s roles and responsibilities including a Board self-evaluation processes and training;
  • ensure that all significant systems and procedures are in place for the service and maintain appropriate corporate governance structure; and
  • ensure that all significant risks are adequately considered and accounted for by management.
